"BEEcause We Care" Beeswax Wraps, how to use and care for them.

Updated: Dec 23, 2021

How do you use your Beeswax Wrap?

  1. ACTIVATE the beeswax wrap by scrunching wrap between your hands. The warmth of your hands will allow the beeswax to become tacky/sticky.

  2. Simply mould the wrap around the tops of bowls, jars, etc., to create a seal.

  3. Use the same method to wrap cheese, vegetables, sandwiches/rolls, fruit, soap and toothbrushes for your travels - or even your wine glass!

Once cooled the seal is created, The Eco-friendly Beeswax Wraps can be used on fresh and refrigerated food and even frozen goods!

What can you use your Beeswax Wrap for?

Almost anything you can think of!

The Eco-Friendly Beeswax Wraps are ideal for items such as cheese, cured meats, bread, fruits and vegetables. The wraps can also be used to protect foods that have been cut, such as half an onion, half a cucumber, or lemon wedges. The wraps are perfect for school or work lunches and can be used for fruit slices, vegetable sticks, sandwiches, rolls and snacks. You can even use your wrap to protect your toothbrush and soap while travelling! As the wraps are naturally water-resistant, you can throw your soap in with your luggage and know that your clothes will be safe.

What should you avoid using your Beeswax Wrap for?

FRIENDLY REMINDER

Beeswax wraps are NOT for use in microwaves, ovens, or dishwashers.

As the wraps are made with beeswax, they are susceptible to heat! Let your food cool down before wrapping, as hot or warm food could damage the wrap. If you want to protect raw meat or fish, place the raw food in a bowl or container and use the wrap to cover the mouth of the container.

Do not use wraps directly on raw meat or fish and avoid letting wraps touch raw meats!

How do you care for your Beeswax Wrap?

  1. Shake off any excess residue

  2. Rinse gently with COLD or TEPID water (NEVER HOT, it will melt the wax) and if needed add an eco-friendly soap or detergent. Do not over-wash, as this can reduce the life of your wrap.

  3. After washing, reshape and hang to dry naturally - away from high heat.

  4. Once clean, simply fold and store away in a cool, dry place.

With proper care, each Eco-Friendly Beeswax Wrap can last for up to a minimum of one year to a couple of years! - if stored, cleaned and used properly.

Your wraps are also biodegradable - simply throw the wrap in with your compost, or bury it in the soil!
